MapleStory Classic World Spearman build and leveling guide, Lv 30-70

I am a Spearman. Where do the points go and where do I train?
iWhat Spearman build and leveling, Lv 30-70 is
Reach, for a melee class. Spears and polearms hit further than a sword, and Iron Will stops the knockback that interrupts them. This page is the climb from 30 to 70: what to stand on in each band and which quests are worth the detour. The Spearman page has the other half - every skill, the whole SP order with its levels worked out, and the gear behind it.

Where the points go

: STR

STR is your damage on every warrior weapon, and DEX is both what lets you hold it and what makes it land. Do not treat DEX as spare: from level 20 up, every sword, axe and blunt weapon on the ladder below carries a DEX requirement alongside its STR one, reaching 65 by level 70. The accuracy formula is also kinder to a warrior’s DEX than to an archer’s, so the points you spend meeting the weapon are doing two jobs at once.

: the order, not the levels
  1. 1.Mastery and a 20% chance to ignore weapon defence in the same twenty points. Swap in Polearm Mastery (1300001) for the polearm line.
  2. 2.One point for the full attack speed bonus.
  3. 3.Rush. You cross the gap, and six monsters get knocked back.
  4. 4.The extra hit at 350%, and the HP it hands back.

The whole order, with the level each step lands at, is on the class page. It is kept in one place so the two cannot disagree.

What to watch
  • Spear and polearm are two weapon lines, not one. Pick before you spend.
  • In Closed Online Test 2 this was the fork that led to Dragon Knight and its Hyper Body. The Public Release has no 3rd job, so pick it for the spear, not for what came after it.
  • A chance to ignore weapon defence on the spear, +20 speed on the polearm: that is the whole difference between the two masteries. Both are numbers you can check on this page rather than claims you have to take.

Read off the item rows by the job each row names, so this list gains a type when the game does. Lower speed stages are faster; the attack speed page has what each stage means and what a Booster does to it.

Where to stand

No map in the Public Release suits this band. The ones that would are Closed Online Test 2 maps, listed apart and marked on the training guide.

The advancement

You are here because you took the level 30 advancement in Perion. The Public Release stops there: it has no third job. Closed Online Test 2 had one, which the site models at level 70 and keeps marked CoT2, but no third-job advancement quest was in either build’s quest rows, so nothing here tells you where to go for it.
