MapleStory Classic World Assassin build and leveling guide, Lv 30-70

I am an Assassin. Where do the points go and where do I train?
iWhat Assassin build and leveling, Lv 30-70 is
Throwing stars and critical hits, and the biggest critical bonus any class buys outright. This page is the climb from 30 to 70: what to stand on in each band and which quests are worth the detour. The Assassin page has the other half - every skill, the whole SP order with its levels worked out, and the gear behind it.

Where the points go

: LUK

LUK is your damage and your evasion, and on a claw or a dagger a point of it is worth two to three points of anything else. Accuracy is mostly DEX: the formula reads DEX at twice LUK’s weight for every branch except magicians, and every claw above level 10 demands DEX anyway, so that requirement is doing double duty. STR you can nearly ignore - no claw asks for it and only two rungs of the dagger ladder do - but the damage formula still reads it as a secondary stat alongside DEX, so a stray point there is small rather than dead.

: the order, not the levels
  1. 1.Mastery, attack power and cheaper stars in the same twenty points.
  2. 2.The critical switch. This is the class.
  3. 3.One point for the full +2 attack speed.
  4. 4.One point, and your party moves faster.

The whole order, with the level each step lands at, is on the class page. It is kept in one place so the two cannot disagree.

What to watch
  • Throwing stars are a consumable. Claw Mastery recovers a quarter of them at max and that is the only relief you get.
  • Drain needs Critical Recovery at 3 first.
  • Critical Recovery pays back HP and MP on a critical hit, and for this class most hits are critical. Seventeen points of it is a genuinely different experience.

Read off the item rows by the job each row names, so this list gains a type when the game does. Lower speed stages are faster; the attack speed page has what each stage means and what a Booster does to it.

Where to stand

No map in the Public Release suits this band. The ones that would are Closed Online Test 2 maps, listed apart and marked on the training guide.

The advancement

You are here because you took the level 30 advancement in Kerning City. The Public Release stops there: it has no third job. Closed Online Test 2 had one, which the site models at level 70 and keeps marked CoT2, but no third-job advancement quest was in either build’s quest rows, so nothing here tells you where to go for it.
