MapleStory Classic World Magician build and leveling guide, Lv 10-30

Lv 10-309 min read
I am a Magician. Where do the points go and where do I train?
iWhat Magician build and leveling, Lv 10-30 is
The ten-to-thirty apprenticeship for every mage. One attack, and the skill that makes having no HP survivable. This page is the climb from 10 to 30: what to stand on in each band and which quests are worth the detour. The Magician page has the other half - every skill, the whole SP order with its levels worked out, and the gear behind it.

Where the points go

: INT

INT for damage and for accuracy both, so there is no second stat to balance for the numbers - and one for the weapon. Fourteen of the seventeen wands and staves on the ladder below want LUK as well as INT: every rung above level 15, and one of the two at level 15, climbing to 65 LUK for the best of them at level 70. Spending nothing but INT is a real choice, and what it buys you is the level 15 wand for the rest of the game, so make it on purpose: AP does not come back.

: the order, not the levels
  1. 1.Three points now, because staying alive comes before killing anything.
  2. 2.One point, because Magic Claw will not open without it.
  3. 3.Your attack for the next twenty levels.
  4. 4.Finish Magic Guard. 80% of incoming damage paid in MP is the difference between fragile and doomed.

The whole order, with the level each step lands at, is on the class page. It is kept in one place so the two cannot disagree.

What to watch
  • Magic Claw and Energy Bolt come to the same Basic Attack total at max: 130, as two hits of 65 or one of 130. The export carries no cast times, so which is faster in practice is not something this page can tell you - Claw is simply the one people take.
  • Keep Magic Guard up before you keep anything else up. Without it a single hit from a monster your own level can end you.
  • INT is the whole stat line for damage and accuracy alike, so nothing about the numbers needs balancing. The weapon is the exception: every wand and staff above level 15 asks for LUK as well, up to 65 of it, so read the “Needs” column in the gear section below before you decide to spend nothing outside INT.

Read off the item rows by the job each row names, so this list gains a type when the game does. Lower speed stages are faster; the attack speed page has what each stage means and what a Booster does to it.

Party quest levels, and the run to the second advancement.

The advancement

First job is level 10 for every branch, and the Magician instructor stands in Ellinia. Second job is level 30, through a quest the snapshot files under Magician. Both towns are on Victoria Island and a new character is not, which is the first thing that actually stops people: the first steps guide has the crossing.
