MapleStory Classic World Archer build and leveling guide, Lv 10-30

Lv 10-309 min read
I am an Archer. Where do the points go and where do I train?
iWhat Archer build and leveling, Lv 10-30 is
The ten-to-thirty apprenticeship for both bowman forks. Range, criticals, and an attack that hits two things. This page is the climb from 10 to 30: what to stand on in each band and which quests are worth the detour. The Archer page has the other half - every skill, the whole SP order with its levels worked out, and the gear behind it.

Where the points go

: DEX

DEX is damage and accuracy together; STR is the secondary the damage formula reads next. Mostly DEX, with STR only to meet a bow that wants it.

: the order, not the levels
  1. 1.One point, because Double Shot will not open without it.
  2. 2.Two monsters a shot, which is most of what you meet on a training map.
  3. 3.Critical rate and critical damage: the cheapest damage an archer buys.
  4. 4.Three points, to open Focus. The extra range is a bonus.

The whole order, with the level each step lands at, is on the class page. It is kept in one place so the two cannot disagree.

What to watch
  • Arrows cost mesos and there is no Soul Arrow until 2nd job. Buy the cheap ones and keep a stack.
  • Focus does not open until The Eye of Amazon is at 3, so there is a three-point toll before the buff you want.
  • Power Knockback is the skill this order leaves out. It pushes four monsters away from you, which matters more later than it does now.
  • These twenty points go to Double Shot because two targets beat one most of the time, and that is a judgement rather than a fact: Arrow Blow is 240% to Double Shot’s 120% against a single monster. If you expect to spend your twenties on bosses rather than on platforms, put them in Arrow Blow instead.

The advancement

First job is level 10 for every branch, and the Bowman instructor stands in Henesys. Second job is level 30, through a quest the snapshot files under Bowman. Both towns are on Victoria Island and a new character is not, which is the first thing that actually stops people: the first steps guide has the crossing.
