The short answer
Do the quests first: the one-time quests from level 1 to 60 pay 174,814 mesos between them, 10,000 of it from [Construction Site B3] Shumi's Lost Sack of Cash alone. Once you are a citizen, the weekly quests pay again, up to 1,638 a time. Sell the drops an NPC pays most for, keep anything a quest or a recipe still wants, and craft only what sells for more than the bench charges.

Quest mesos are the client’s own reward rows, event quests left out because they leave with the event. A sell price is what an NPC pays, also the client’s. Which monster drops what is not in the client: these lists are an older version’s tables joined by name (the file says: "v83 GMS drop tables, joined to Beta 2 by monster and item NAME. Beta 2 reassigns parts of the item id space, so an id join is unsafe. Rates are v83's and are not authoritative for this server."), so they say what a monster can drop and never how often. Players’ confirmed drops are on each monster page.

A quest from a pool is offered only on the days the rotation draws it, and a name with a range is the same quest asking for different things on different turns. Every quest, with its pool, is on Citizenship and the quest list.

The fee against what an NPC pays for what comes out. The ingredients are not priced in: most are monster drops with no purchase price, so a recipe here pays for itself only if its parts cost you nothing. Every recipe, ranked for crafting EXP as well, is on crafting efficiency; crafting opens at level 10.
What not to sell
259 items are wanted by a quest or a recipe in the Public Release. Sold to an NPC, the whole list would fetch 253,797 mesos; for 170 of them nothing known drops or sells another. These are the first of those:

And spend less
The most HP a meso buys at a shop is Apple, 20 mesos for 40 HP. For MP it is Orange, 50 mesos for 50 MP. The shop prices are recorded by hand, not read from the client; every one is ranked on what a meso buys.
